Field & Facility Guidelines
Helping every LNYSA game day stay safe, respectful, clean, and enjoyable for players, families, coaches, and referees.
Why These Guidelines Matter
At LNYSA, game day should feel fun, organized, and positive for everyone involved. Families, players, and spectators all help shape that experience.
These guidelines are here to help us care for the parks and facilities we use, respect City expectations, and create a great environment for every child on the field.
The Big Priorities for Families
Keep It Clean
Please throw away trash, bottles, and food wrappers in the proper receptacles before you leave.
Keep It Safe
Help us protect kids and facilities by avoiding anything that could damage the field or create unnecessary risk.
Respect Shared Spaces
Fields and park areas are shared community spaces. Please follow signs, staff instructions, and posted rules.
Make It Positive
A clean, calm, respectful environment helps players focus, enjoy the game, and grow in confidence.
What Families Should Do
- Pick up after your group and use trash cans
- Follow all parking signs and restrictions
- Keep dogs leashed where allowed and always clean up after them
- Use only approved walkways, roads, and parking areas
- Respect park hours and staff guidance
Small things make a big difference. When families help keep fields and park areas clean and orderly, it makes the experience better for everyone.
What to Avoid
To help protect City facilities and keep the environment safe, please avoid bringing or using:
- Smoking, vaping, e-cigarettes, drugs, or narcotics
- Weapons, fireworks, fog machines, or similar smoke devices
- Personal grills, open flames, or open fires
- Amplified sound unless specifically approved
- Anything that could damage or deface landscaping, structures, or park surfaces
- Vehicles in non-approved areas
E-Bikes and Synthetic Turf Fields
Please do not ride, park, or allow e-bikes on synthetic turf fields. Turf should also not be used as a shortcut to cross from one area to another.
Synthetic turf fields are expensive community assets, and e-bikes can damage the turf surface, infill, and seams.
Please help us protect these fields by following these guidelines:
- Do not ride e-bikes on synthetic turf
- Do not walk e-bikes across synthetic turf
- Do not park or leave e-bikes on the field edge or playing surface
- Use paved paths, sidewalks, and approved access routes instead

Dogs & Pets
Dogs Must Be Leashed
Where dogs are allowed in City park areas, they must be on a leash no longer than six feet.
Clean Up After Pets
Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.
Synthetic Turf Fields
Pets are not permitted on synthetic turf fields, except for ADA service dogs. For more detail, please review the full City policy document.
Best Practice for Game Day
If a field has special turf rules or posted pet restrictions, please follow those signs even if dogs are allowed elsewhere in the park.
Park Hours, Parking & Personal Items
- City parks are generally open from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM
- All parking signs, restrictions, and laws must be followed
- A reservation or game schedule does not guarantee parking availability
- The City is not responsible for lost or stolen items
- Please keep valuables secure and plan extra time for parking on busy weekends
Special Setups, Signage & Event Extras
Bounce Houses & Inflatables
These are not generally allowed unless specifically approved, and certain equipment is only permitted in designated locations.
Signs & Banners
Banners and signage may require prior written approval from the City depending on location and use.
Music & Sound
Amplified sound is not automatically allowed and must comply with City rules and approvals.
No City Endorsement Implied
Use of a City facility does not automatically mean the City endorses or sponsors an event.
Simple Family Checklist Before You Leave
- Did we clean up our trash?
- Did we keep pets where they are allowed and under control?
- Did we avoid restricted items like smoking, personal grills, or amplified sound?
- Did we keep e-bikes completely off synthetic turf?
- Did we respect parking rules and staff guidance?
- Did we leave the field and surrounding area in good shape for the next family?
