Important Dates (Subject to change due to local policy changes by the City on facilities and/or government advisory on COVID-19) 

  • Early May 2021  - Registration opens early May, 2021
  • July 21, 2021 - Registration Deadline for Early Bird Discount. (Prices rise by $50)
  • August (mid month), 2021 - Mandatory Coaches' Meeting & On- Field Training Class (review SafeSport, Training, Season details)
  • August (end of month) - Ref Training Class 
  • August TBA, 2021- First day of Fall Practice (U9-U19)
  • September TBA, 2021 (Saturday) - Opening Day for ALL 2021
  • November TBA,  2021 (Saturday) - Last Day of Regular Season Play (ALL)

Information about the LNYSA Fall Season

2017 and 2018 "Mini-Kickers"- A great introduction to soccer with the emphasis on FUN, with weekly skills sessions. Players are assigned to a team that plays fun soccer games and a short scrimmage at the end of the session. The session are maximum 60 minutes long with lots of water breaks. Soccer patches are handed out each week based on the skills completed that week. Uniforms (jersey, shorts, socks) are provided. 

2016 (U6)  and 2015 (U7) -  Players are assigned to a set team and play 4v4 or 5v5 without goalkeepers.  Recreational Coaches and Volunteers will be present on the field to assist with the general flow of the 90 minute weekly sessions. Emphasis is on fun and implementing age appropriate soccer skills. There is a 30 minute practice prior to the scrimmage. The session ends with a fun scrimmage on a Laguna Niguel micro-field with mini goals. Uniforms (jersey, shorts, socks) are provided.

2014 (U8)  - Players are assigned to a set team and play 5v5 with a goalkeeper. The weekly Saturday sessions last 90 minutes. One practice a week with the team is encouraged. (weekly practices are optional) Uniforms (jersey, shorts, socks) are provided. 

2012-2013 (Under 10) Players will be assigned to a team with a maximum roster of nine and play 6v6 with a goalkeeper in a local game circuit. Two team practices will be held by the team coach during the week. Teams in these divisions will be balanced teams, with the roster selected through a player balancing. Uniforms (jersey, shorts, socks) are provided. 

2010-2011 (Under 12) - Players will be assigned to a team with a maximum roster of eleven and play 8v8 with a goalkeeper in a local game circuit. Two team practices will be held by the team coach during the week. Teams in these divisions will be balanced teams, with the roster selected through a player balancing. Uniforms (jersey, shorts, socks) are provided. 

2008-2009 (Under 14) -  Two options may apply for U14 based upon team counts in this division.  All teams may play in the local circuit, with all games in Laguna Niguel, or the teams may play in a travel circuit, with half the games in Laguna Niguel and the other half at cities in Orange County.  A decision will be made by the Division Director(s) prior to the start of the season.

2006-2007 (U16) and 2003-2005 (U19) - Teams will play in the an Orange County Travel Circuit. Uniforms (jersey, shorts, socks) are provided. 

Signature Program- Signature teams play competitive games throughout Orange County (typically half of the games in Laguna Niguel). The teams are formed based on the last season roster and new tryouts held in May. The practices start in mid of July, the season games are planned for early September through mid of December.

Players need to use their own cleats, shin guards and a ball to play in these programs. Shin guards are required at all times during play.

COVID-19 Measures

For illustration purposes here are some of the items to keep in mind: 

We will limit the number of spectators at the fields, spectators will stand 6 feet apart from others and from the sidelines.
Social distancing measures will be implemented on sidelines and celebrations will be modified:
- Parent tunnels will be replaced with clapping lines
- No high fives, handshakes or intentional physical contact
- Staff, parents and participants will be required to stay home if they or anyone they have come in contact with is sick.
- No team snacks or drinks.
- No concessions will be available at the venues.
(Additional COVID-19 measures will be implemented as mandated by the State of California)

For ages 2003 through 2013 additional Referee Fees will apply to Saturday Games.

2021 Fall Rec Soccer

Welcome to LNYSA FALL Soccer. Available Programs include the following:

Mini-Kickers – LNYSA Mini-Kickers is for players, ages 3 to 4. This introductory program is focused on friendships and fun. Games are played on Saturdays; there are no mid-week practices. It’s where the young ones start! Parents may expect to be notified during late August regarding uniform information.

Recreational – LNYSA Recreational soccer is for ages 5 through 19. Designed to develop skills, build confidence, teamwork, self-esteem, and leadership. All games are played in Laguna Niguel. Practices begin in August. Uniforms are distributed prior to the first game in September.

Signature League – LNYSA Signature League is for players, ages 9 through 14, with advanced skills. Tryouts, completed during May, are required for this elite level program. Signature teams play other Cal South elite level teams during the Fall and Spring seasons. Practices begin in July.

TOPSoccer – The Outreach Program for Soccer, TOPSoccer, is a community-based soccer program for young athletes with physical and mental disabilities that provides a safe and fun environment for their child to participate in organized sports. These athletes compete with others of similar abilities.

LNYSA AllStars – LNYSA AllStars is a Post Fall Season program for players, ages 10 through 14, with advanced skills that are invited by All Star Coaches to attend a multi-city All Star Competition in early January. This program is by invitation only. Player invites are usually sent out in early November. 

LNYSA is supported by the California Youth Soccer Association – South (Cal South). Cal South manages the Southern California region for the United States Youth Soccer Association. US Youth Soccer is the largest youth soccer group in North America supporting more than three million youth soccer players.

Volunteering:We ask all families to commit to a volunteer activity (see the list during registration) or make a donation in lieu of volunteering. During registration please tell us if your family intends to volunteer for one of the roles or make a $150 donation per family (added to the cart at the end of registration for those not signing up to volunteer) *Note If you have another player in another program just select the same volunteer role as you did in the other program. Thank you.
