The Mini-Kickers Program



This is a Saturday only program – no mid-week practices. Each week boys and girls will spend one hour in fun soccer activities taught by certified coaches. There are no set teams, so kids can play side-by-side with their friends. Each session will end with a real soccer match on a small field. There are no referees, so parents will stay to cheer on their player.

The mini-kickers program runs in both the Fall and Spring season for approximately 8-10 weeks. The Fall Season typically starts the first week of September and ends in early November.  The Spring Season starts in early March and ends in early May. Each mini-kicker is provided with a uniform (shirt, shorts and socks).  Parents are asked to provide Shin Guards and a Size 3 Ball for their player.

There are no set teams or assigned coaches in Mini Kickers. When you arrive, you will see several micro-fields set up.  Your player can choose whichever field they want to play on. We will discuss the program in more detail at the Parent Meeting that is held just before the start of each season.

Mini-Kicker Program Rules:

  • Your child MUST have shinguards to play. They will not be allowed on the field without them. Your player will also need to bring a size 3 ball with them each week. Your child can wear tennis shoes or soccer cleats (not baseball cleats). Most children wear tennis shoes. Please no jewelry on your players. It can cause injuries or get lost.  Any child wearing jewelry will be asked to remove it.
  • Make sure your child drinks water and has a good breakfast before their session so they have plenty of energy for soccer. You will also need to bring WATER for your player and a snack if they need it.
  • Don’t forget the sunscreen for you and your player. There is not very much shade at the field.  You may also want to bring chairs or a blanket to sit on while you watch your player.
  • A parent or adult guardian must stay with your player during the session.  There are no player drop-offs allowed for Mini Kickers.
  • All families are expected to volunteer.  If your family is not a coach helper and not helping elsewhere in the league, please sign up for field set up and clean up duty here.
  • NO DOGS are allowed at the field. Some children are allergic and others are scared, no matter how friendly you think your dog is.
