Everything About Fall 2017 Mini-Kickers

What is Mini-Kickers?
This is a Saturday only program – no mid-week practices. Each week boys and girls will spend one hour in fun soccer activities taught by parent coaches at La Paz Sports Park. There are no set teams, so kids can play side-by-side with their friends. When you arrive at the field join one of the groups on one of the micro-fields.  Each session ends with a real soccer match on a small field, followed by a team cheer.  There are no referees, parents will stay to cheer on their player during the session.


What are the Age requirements?
A Mini-Kicker is any girl or boy over 3 years of age.  We have many players just over 3 years old up to 5 years of age. Our younger players have a great time, but kids sometimes collide. Parents need to be aware that other kids sharing the field may be five and should make the decision if they think their child is ready to start playing soccer. Mini-Kickers Fall 2017 age group is for players born in 2013, and 2014.

What is the Fall Festival & when is it ? The Fall festival is held on Saturday, November 11th, at Chapparosa Park  and is packed full of fun for all the kids. The kids play soccer games in the morning then join the Festival.  This is the last session in the Season. The Festival includes live music, face painting, giant slides, obstacle courses and bounce houses, soccer games and Free BBQ for all !!  It’s an amazing day.

Saturday Mini-Kickers Activities: Dates / Times / Fields
Two sessions will run each Saturday starting at 8:15am and 9:30am on La Paz Sports Park.  The first Saturday session will commence at 8:15am until 9:15am. The second session will commence at 9:30am until 10:30am.  You may attend either session each week.
The season consists of 10 weekly sessions, from September 9th to November 12th. Please arrive at the field 5-10 minutes early so you can find parking and be ready for the start of the session.

Parking During the Season 
Parking at La Paz Sports Park, is just behind Whole Foods.  There are plenty of parking spaces. Please allow 5-10 minutes to park and walk onto the field & join any of the groups (you will see a number of micro-fields setup).

How do I Sign Up?
Register online using credit or debit card.   If you have any registration problems email mini-kickers@lnysa.org, we are here to help.

How much does it cost?

What about player uniforms?
Each player will receive a full uniform including jersey, shorts and socks. You MUST provide Shin Guards and a Size 3 Ball for your player (we will also provide soccer balls for each group to use).

What happens if it rains?
If we experience heavy rain on a Friday or Saturday we will update the field status to advise if the Saturday session is proceeding or not as this is what dictates if we play or do not play.   To review field conditions please visit our fields link or call the city mud line for field status.
Is there a Residency requirement?
While most of our players live in Laguna Niguel, many live in Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, San Clemente or Mission Viejo. Laguna Niguel Youth Soccer Association welcomes kids from every city.

What is the deadline to Sign Up?
Most players will sign up online by August 1. Since there are no set teams for Mini-Kickers, we will continue to accept online registrations until the first week of our Saturday sessions, or until the program reaching max capacity and we are unable to accommodate further players.  If you sign up after September 1st, however, you may have to wait a few weeks into the season before you receive your uniform.

Do you need volunteers?
YES! We need dozens of Coach-Helper volunteers. This is a simple, well organized program. We’ll show you exactly what to do and give you a step-by-step weekly schedule.  You don’t need any soccer experience to be a Coach-Helper. To help you must attend one of our Coach-Helper meetings to be scheduled in August/Sept. Please email mini-kickers@lnysa.org with the subject line Coach-Helper to let me know you are interested.

How do I sign-up to be a coach helper?
Being a coach helper is a fun role, we ask the Coach-Helpers to visit the coach helper sign up page to tell us which sessions they will be able to attend each week , the 1st session or the 2nd session  – coach-helpers please sign up here   The coach helper training date and location are TDB.  At the training the coach helpers will review the activity plans and cards and pick up their coach helper t-shirts.

Parents Meeting on Wednesday September 6th, 2017 (6:30 pm – 7:45 pm)
The meeting is set at the View Room at the Crown Valley Park (29751 Crown Valley Pkwy, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677). Here’s an example agenda for a parent meeting. The parent’s meeting will give you the opportunity to learn more about the mini-kickers program and collect your player’s uniform.
