Spring 2017 Soccer Academy (U6-U7)

Soccer Academy Program (U6-U7)  is for players that are Under 6 and Under 7 years of age. The Program runs each Spring Season. Academy creates a player-centric environment without pressure from significant others (coaches, parents), where children can play soccer on their own terms, enjoy themselves more, be more creative, and experiment, while at the same time getting more touches.

– Here is a recap of the information you will need for a successful season in the Soccer Academy Program

  • Our season will start on Saturday March 4 and end on Saturday May 6th. There will be no games played on April 8, 2017.
  • Uniform Pick-up: March 1 (Wednesday), 7:30 pm, Sea Country Community Center (24602 Aliso Creek Rd, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677)
  • Coaches/Helpers Mandatory Meeting: March 1 (Wednesday), 7:30 pm, Oak Room, Sea Country Community Center (24602 Aliso Creek Rd, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677)
  • Skills sessions will start on March 7 (Tuesday) at Marina Hills Upper (Location to be confirmed) – These are free training sessions focused on skills development to help the players with first touch, kicking, trapping, positioning. These 1-hr sessions during the week will run on the dates and times shown below. The session for U6 players starts at  4:00pm (to 5:00 pm) and the session for U7 players starts promptly at 5:00 pm (to 6:00 pm).
  • Saturday games will be Jamboree style games at Chapparosa Park (to be verified) on Chapparosa Park Road. The games will be coordinated and run by a Club coach. Coaches/helpers are asked to get to the field 15 minutes prior to the start of the Saturday sessions.
    • The session for U6 players starts promptly at  9:45am – 11:00am
    • The session for U7 players starts promptly at 11:15am – 12:30pm
  • There are no set teams or assigned coaches in Soccer Academy but we use coaches and coordinators to assist in running the sessions with a focus on skills development and fun!
  • Remember, a parent or responsible adult IS REQUIRED to stay during the session. You can not drop off your player and return when the session is over.
  • If it is ever raining on a Saturday morning, you will need to call the city Mudline at (949) 362-4351 ext. 3. The city decides if fields are open or closed. If the fields are open, we WILL play soccer, even if it is a little drizzly.  If the fields are closed, we will not play soccer that week. Unfortunately, due to field scheduling, there are no makeups for missed games.
  • Your child MUST have shin-guards to play. They will not be allowed on the field without them. Your player will also need to bring a size 3 ball with them each week. Your child can wear tennis shoes or  soccer cleats (not baseball).
  • You will also need to bring WATER for your player and a snack if they need it. Also, do not forget the sunscreen.
  • CalSouth has a no jewelry policy for all players. This includes tape or Band-Aids over earrings. This is not allowed.  It can cause injuries or get lost.
  • Please pick up all litter and please do not leave it on the fields but place it in the various bins at the field.
  • Please NO DOGS on the field. Some children are allergic and others are scared, no matter how friendly you think your dog is. You can walk your Dogs around the Park but stay off the field area.
  • Parking is plentiful at the field.
  • Thank you so much and I look forward to a great season.
