Referee Training for New Referees

IMGP0644

Learn How to Become an Assistant Referee!

So many parents, players, and other LNYSA volunteers have already become masters of the game–more and more each season! Each one has participated in LNYSA’s one-hour long Assistant Referee class. Now, you can, too! Best of all, if you’re a player parent, becoming an Assistant Referee (AR) and supporting LNYSA as an AR during games this season will fulfill your commitment as a volunteer in our community supported organization.

If you, or someone you know, would like to attend one of the following one-hour field AR training classes, please email our Director of Referees, Noel Shenoi, at ref@lnysa.org. Already certified referees may also attend these classes as a refresher. Everyone at LNYSA appreciates your support of our volunteer organization!

What:    Assistant Referee Training

Where: Chapparosa Park

When:  Wednesday, February 22, Tuesday, February 28; or Thursday, March 2, 6:30 – 7:30 PM

Here’s what you may expect to learn during your hour-long session:

– how to schedule yourself to participate as a game referee

– what to learn and expect if you wish to progress further (become a Center Referee)

To make your education a little easier and your experience more valuable, please refer to the Laws of the Game Made Easy found on our website by clicking here or either image above right. For additional advice and helpful hints on how to get the best start at becoming a successful Youth Referee, please refer to the US Youth Soccer tips.

We look forward to seeing you “on the pitch!”
