Dehydration - The invisible opponent

During the month of September, game time temperatures can peak into the high 80's increasing the risk of player dehydration, heat exhaustion or even heat stroke.  Proper hydration means drinking before, during and after activities.  You should consult your physician on the methods they prescribe and advise for your athlete. The US Youth Soccer Association, in conjunction with USSF, has provided a comprehensive look at Heat & Hydration Guidelines for Youth Soccer Players .
