Dear Mini-Kickers Parent,

Please remember to attend the Mini-Kickers Parents-Only meeting on

Thursday, September 9 at 7:15 PM

in the View Room at Crown Valley Community Park. At this meeting you will...

  • Get Your Uniform
  • Meet the Coaches
  • Discuss Session Times
  • Learn What to Expect Each Week

In order to prepare for the season, you will need to provide a Size 3 Ball and Shin Guards for your player. We will supply the rest of the uniform. You may wish to get soccer cleats, but tennis shoes are fine too. NO baseball cleats are allowed for soccer.

We will meet each Saturday starting September 11th and continuing until our 2010 Fall Festival on November 13th. I have changed the session times from earlier announced. Our one-hour sessions will be at 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM at La Paz Sports Park (on La Paz at Aliso Creek). You may attend either session any week.

Sincerely,
Mark Leeds
Mini-Kickers Division Director

P.S. - We will continue to accept registrations through the first two weeks of the season, so tell your friends!

Everything About Fall 2010 Mini-Kickers

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS -

What is Mini-Kickers?
This is a Saturday only program - no mid-week practices. Each week boys and girls will spend one hour in fun soccer activities taught by certified coaches. There are no set teams, so kids can play side-by-side with their friends. Each session will end with a real soccer match on a small field. There are no referees, so parents will stay to cheer on their player.

What are the Age Requirements?
A Mini-Kicker is any boy or girl born AFTER 7/31/2005 . There is NO MINIMUM AGE requirement. We have many players just over 3 years old. Our younger players have had a great time, but kids sometimes collide. Parents need to be aware that other kids sharing the field may be five.

Dates / Times / Fields
The season will run for ten weeks beginning in September. The exact times and field assignments from the city are usually determined just prior to the start of the season. Our field will be here in Laguna Niguel (last year we were assigned to La Paz Sports Park). I anticipate we will run two sessions, probably 8:30 and 10:00. You may attend either session any week.

How Much does it Cost?
The Fall 2010 Mini-Kickers season cost $95 paid by check.

What about Uniforms?
Each player will receive a full uniform including jersey, shorts and socks. You MUST provide Shin Guards and a Size 3 Ball for your player.

Is there a Residency Requirement?
While most of our players live in Laguna Niguel, many live in Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, San Clemente or Mission Viejo. Laguna Niguel Youth Soccer Association welcomes kids from every city.

How do I Sign Up?
Get a registration form on our website  www.lnysa.org by clicking About, LNYSA Forms, then Player Registration Form. Fill it out including your Email address, your child's Name and Date of Birth, and sign it . MAKE THREE COPIES for us and mail it along with your $95 check to
LNYSA - Registration

Laguna Niguel, CA  92677

What is the Deadline to Sign Up?
Most players have already signed up or will do so by mail during the summer. Since there are no set teams for Mini-Kickers, we will continue to accept registrations at the field during the first two weeks of our Saturday sessions. If you sign up after July you may have to wait a few weeks into the season before you receive your uniform.

Do you need Volunteers?
YES! We need dozens of Coach-Helper volunteers. This is a simple, well organized program. We'll show you exactly what to do. To help you must attend one of our Coach-Helper meetings to be scheduled in August. Please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with the subject line Coach-Helper to let me know you are interested.

What's next - Parents Meeting
Watch your email in August for details about our parent's meeting in late August / early September. The parent's meeting will give you the opportunity to learn more about the mini-kickers program and get your player's uniform. In the meantime, enjoy your summer!!

What Parents Are Saying About Mini-Kickers...

This is our first year in mini-kickers and our son is having a blast and learning some basic skills at the same time!  We have found some preschool friends that he meets up with every Saturday morning and they all play together.  Next year when he starts regular soccer, I think he will be better prepared for the game.

Thank you for all of your hard work, energy and time!

Sincerely,
Lucinda

Just wanted to say thanks for setting up this great program and all that you do to maintain it.

I have had and continue to have a wonderful experience with my daughter because of your efforts, a sentiment that is shared by all of the kids I see each week.

Thanks again,
Mike
