| Blood Drive for Keanna on June 16 - Please Donate! |
|
Keanna Sviland is a 5th grader who attends school at St. Mary's & All Angels in Aliso Viejo. In November 2008, doctors discovered that she had a sarcoma (cancer) of the right kidney. Since that time she has been in and out of hospitals fighting hard to rid her body of this cancer. It is a rare type of cancer and is a very aggressive growing cancer. She just completed a Stem Cell Transplant and is fighting yet again to build-up her immune system after completing this transplant procedure. She is still very ill and in her fight to build up her immunity, needs frequent blood transfusions to give her weakened system a much needed boost. Keanna and other children who have cancer would literally not survive without the help of generous blood donors. Every time a blood transfusion is hung for Keanna, her family looks to the Heavens and thank all who donated to make that transfusion possible. It has made a tremendous difference in their fight to beat this cancer. On Tuesday, June 16, 2009, Keanna's Girl Scout Troop 793 is partnering with Children's Hospital of LA (CHLA) and Soka University of America to bring a Blood Mobile down to South Orange County. It is on this date that generous blood donors such as you can help all children stricken with cancer. Please join us for a few minutes of your time to donate blood for Keanna and anyone else who is in need of blood transfusions. Date: Tuesday, June 16, 2009
