As an LNYSA coach, the situation may arise that you wish to add a player to your team that is currently active with another Calsouth league.  In certain situations in the Spring Season these players will be able to make "guest appearances" on your team as long as the player has a valid Calsouth ID and has a copy of her ID card for submission at all games.  In most cases, in order to add a current Calsouth league affiliated player to your roster you will need to follow the player transfer process highlighted below and pay the transfer fee to Calsouth ($25).

CYSA-South (Cal South) is the organization that is the governing body under which our teams participate. Cal South is the organization that issues Player and Administrator Cards. They also administer the Risk Management and Coaches Education Programs as well as provide insurance to our members.

To initiate a player transfer, a Player Release and Transfer form must be completed to allow a player to be released from the team to which he/she has been rostered for the seasonal soccer year. 

Coaches please be aware: Cal South imposes a “Roster Freeze” period whereby players rostered to a team cannot be released or transferred to another team without acceptance by Calsouth of the PlayerTransferWaiverForm.pdf . In most cases transfers will NOT be approved during the roster freeze period.  See section 1.4 of the Calsouth Rule book.

"Requests for waivers to the roster freeze period will be heard by the appropriate District Commissioner and granted only under limited circumstances."  

The Roster Freeze Date for the seasonal soccer season is August 1 through the first Monday after Thanksgiving.  Note there are different Roster Freeze Periods and Roster Freeze Dates for State and National Cup Competition.

The Outline for the Player Transfer Process is as follows:

  • Request authorization to make a player transfer from your Division Director
  • Download and complete the Release_and_Transfer_Form.pdf
  • Parent & Player to sign the form and attach the League Player card and Registration form
  • Parent to request the form is signed by Coach for previous team & their League Registrar
  • LNYSA Coach to sign form and submit to LNYSA Registrar
  • Email or fax form (plus attachments) to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for submission to the Calsouth District 3 Commissioner
  • Once Player released LNYSA Registrar will Print LNYSA Player card for collection by LNYSA Coach

The Form requires the following signatures:  Player, Parent, Team Official (Coach or League Official), LNYSA Registrar and District Commissioner. These signatures are required from both the team the player is transferring from as well as the team they are transferring to. If they are not transferring to a specific team then the transferring to section is left blank and they are placed in the District Pool. The player’s current CYSA Player Card and Player Registration Form must be attached to the Release and Transfer Form when it is submitted to Calsouth.
