What’s with the camouflage uniforms this year?

BU8 boys in camo

Max Fetah, Sterling Rapp and Vance Faijo from Boys U10 Neon Panthers

Many of our coaches and board members have been getting questions and comments about the camouflage uniforms that LNYSA players are wearing this fall.  Is LNYSA jumping on the camo fashion trend?  The answer is that in addition to providing some cool looking uniforms that the kids really  like wearing, LNYSA and every family is participating in a fundraiser that helps provide housing for injured veterans from America’s armed services.  What do you think?  Share pictures of your players in their camo uniforms by sending photos to photos@lnysa.org or posting to the LNYSA Facebook page.

LNYSA’s uniform partner, Score Sports, has partnered with a non-profit organization, Homes for Our Troops, to help fund housing for injured veterans.  From the Score web site:

Homes for Our Troops

At SCORE Sports we recognize and appreciate the sacrifices made by veterans, active military and their family members. As our company is rooted in the USA we want to show our support for those who have fought for our country.

With the launch of our camouflage jersey a portion of each jersey sale will be donated to Homes for Our Troops. The donation will go towards building homes for severely injured Veterans and their families.

Facts on Homes for Our Troops…

  • The homes provided by Homes for Our Troops are given at no cost to the Veterans
  • Only 9.6% of revenue has been spent on overhead since its inception in 2004
  • Over 150 homes have been built thus far with over 20 currently in progress

By purchasing the camouflage jersey for yourself or your team, you can help build homes for our Veterans.
